Morning Workshops

For the month of December, Nature Nuts will have Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday morning workshops available.
You can sign up for one morning or all of them if you would like!

Working with Nature’s Pigments

Tuesdays, Dec 8th & 15th
9:00am – 12:00pm
($35 a day)

Did you know that you can create paints and dyes from things found in nature? You can even make your own quill and ink, and we can show you how!

Plant Identification 101

Thursdays, Dec 10th & 17th
9:00am – 12:00pm
($35 a day)

Walk through the campus and learn how to identify all sorts of plants, from ferns to firs, not to mention the animals that depend on them!

Survival Skills

Fridays, Dec 11th & 18th
9:00am – 12:00pm
($35 a day)

If you want to learn how to make a shelter, light a fire, filter water, and even find your way in the woods, you should join us! We’ll also be learning a lot about wilderness first aid as we master our survival skills.

These workshops will be available for grades Kindergarten (or age 5) through 4th grade.

All workshops will be at our place-based program at Islandwood from 9:00 am – 12:00pm. Since our afternoon programming starts at 1:00 pm or 2:00 pm we hope this would give you and your kiddo some time for lunch (for our staff as well). Or if you would like to switch to just a morning workshop in lieu of afternoon programming, please reach out and let us know and we can adjust your schedule accordingly.

Our goal with these morning workshops is to provide more time to dive deeper into some wonderful topics, while providing families with additional outside opportunities for the kids to get excited about nature!

** Please note that these workshops will need at least 5 kiddos to sign up per workshop. We will be in touch if we do not meet that requirement.**
